FAQ’s

Are there age limits on lessons? 

⁃ No, there are not age limits on lessons, however, we do expect a certain level of athleticism from each student.  

What if I am not a strong swimmer? 

⁃ Not to worry, all students are attached to 8’+ buoyant board and assisted by an instructor. 

What if I don’t have a board? 

⁃ EI Surf Lessons provides a board for each student based on height and weight for entire duration of lesson. Campers are also provided a board to share with others for entire duration of camp.

When is the best time to get a surf lesson?

– Surf changes by the hour, the only recommendation we have is to book closest to your arrival date to allow time for rescheduling due to weather.

Do you provide board rentals? 

⁃ Yes. We offer 24hr board rentals starting at $25. 

How can I tip my instructor?

⁃ Your instructor keeps 100% of the gratuity given. Your instructor can accept cash at the time of the lesson. If you would like to tip, but unable to at the time of the lesson, please see the thank you email sent before the lesson.

Do you provide wetsuits?

⁃ Yes, EI Surf Lessons carries enough variety in wetsuits to accommodate for most students during winter months.

What if I need to cancel?

– Our cancelation policy is located at the bottom of this page. We strongly recommend purchasing Peek Protect at checkout. This plan will allow you to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before your booking starts.

Where are lessons held?

– Walking distance from Bogue Inlet Pier.

CANCELATION POLICY

BY BOOKING YOU ARE ACKNOWLEDGING AND AGREEING TO OUR CANCELATION POLICY 

Cancelations GREATER THAN 48 hours from the time of your lesson will receive a gift card for the amount paid or reschedule at no extra cost.

Cancelations WITHIN 24 hours of your lesson will receive a gift card for the price of the lesson minus $20 for last minute cancellation. This ensures instructors are paid, as their work schedules are set weeks in advance.

We will NOT run lessons or camp in unsafe conditions. STAFF will make this call and reschedule those needed. Rescheduling is FREE. If you’re visiting, book closer to your arrival date to accommodate for weather and rescheduling. We can also do store credit for those affected by weather.

We highly advise purchasing insurance provided by the booking software if store credit or rescheduling does not suit your interests. This plan will allow you to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before your booking starts.

We reserve the right to cancel and reschedule at any given time due to unsafe conditions. 

We DO NOT have a store front, we meet all students on the beach. Students are to find public parking and walk down to us. PLEASE read your confirmation email throughly. We spent a lot of time to go into great detail on where the lesson will be held. Thank you all & we can not wait to see you out there!
